Lily’s dedicaTIon to adventure and achievement is admirable. Her approach is a huge reminder to believe that anything is possible and to enjoy it one day at a time.

Who do I imagine myself becoming? I often daydream of what endeavour awaits me. ‘Tomorrow I’ll do this, tomorrow I’ll do that’. Luckily, my children have given me the greatest gift of pulling me into the present. If we have an idea, my son always says ‘Can we do it now?’ So I took him for his first-morning surf. We mostly played in the waves, and when he had his first go, he managed to belly surf the tide rolling in, I was so proud! On his second go, we didn’t quite get into position and he tumbled into the saltwater. He was in shock, and I was the proudest dad in the world.

We were there. I brought the surfboard. We were in the water together.
